• Osiyo! Welcome to the New Mexico Cherokee Community.
(Osiyo! Nigadv itsehesdi dohiyi udantiyu.) — Welcome! May you all live in peace and goodwill.
We are a gathering place for Cherokee citizens, descendants, and families living in New Mexico. Our mission is to preserve and celebrate our rich Tsalagi language, culture, history, and community bonds far from our traditional homelands.
“Welcome to our digital home. As Cherokees living outside our historic boundaries, maintaining a dedicated space for fellowship, cultural heritage, and shared tradition is vital to our community’s strength. Our monthly gatherings are a time of Gadugi—coming together as one to help, encourage, and look out for one another. Whether you are a registered citizen or of Cherokee descent, you have a place here with us. We invite you to download our application, join us for a potluck meal, and share in the preservation of our language and culture.”
