Membership Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I join the NMCC?

To join, please download our Membership Application from the Document Library, fill it out, and bring it to any of our monthly meetings at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center. Membership is granted upon payment of dues and approval by the NMCC Council.

Does paying community dues make me a citizen of the Cherokee Nation?

No. Membership dues for the NMCC are for local community participation and are not for Tribal Enrollment. Tribal registration must be handled directly through the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah.

What if I am of Cherokee descent but not yet a registered citizen?

You are welcome! If you are not a registered Cherokee Nation Citizen, you may be granted Associate/Provisional status. You can participate fully in all community activities and workshops, though you cannot vote in local elections or hold office.

  • July: $25.00
  • August: $23.10
