  1. Official Affiliation and Status
    The New Mexico Cherokee Community (NMCC) is a non-political, non-profit Native American organization and an officially recognized satellite community of the Cherokee Nation, operating in formal affiliation with the Cherokee Nation Community & Cultural Outreach (CCO) department in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
  2. Governance Boundaries
    While the NMCC proudly maintains a close cultural relationship with the Cherokee Nation and actively maintains a threshold where a minimum of eighty percent (80%) of its total household roster consists of registered Cherokee Nation Citizens, the NMCC operates as an independent local community organization.
    This website is maintained solely for the benefit of Cherokee citizens, elders, veterans, and descendants residing within the state of New Mexico. This platform does not represent the official government of the Cherokee Nation, and the NMCC Council possesses no authority to grant tribal citizenship, issue photo certificates, or handle official tribal enrollment documentation. For all official tribal governance affairs, please contact the Cherokee Nation Registration Department directly.
